Triathlon in North Korea?
I’ll admit it – this is a weird topic. So weird that there is nothing on the internet about it (that’s saying a lot).
But would you believe there have been five ITU athletes from North Korea that have competed overseas?

Not a triathlete, but a 2:11 marathoner who lost by 3 seconds to an athlete from Japan. Read the blog post below to find out how this happened. Photo: World Athletics

And that the country has some really good runners, including a 2:11 marathoner?
And do you know about the Pyongyang Marathon held there each April, and it's open to foreigners?
I visited the Hermit Kingdom a few yeas back and have now written a bit about swim, bike, and run there. Check it out.

Anything is Possible
You know what flow is, right?
That surreal feeling of intense focus where everything else melts away, your sense of time distorts, and you perform beyond your expectations?
Basically, runner’s high.
Flow was coined by Mihai Csikszentmihalyi but broken down by Steven Kotler, in his new book, The Art of Impossible.

I am well into this book and highly recommend it to anybody who aspires to better performance either in sport or the office.

Sprint Reads
Pro triathlete Hailey Dans shares her coming out story. It's worth a read.
OK, now this I have got to see. Ali Brownlee and 70.3 record-holder Blummenfelt are trying to go sub-7 and Lucy Charles-Barclay and Nicola Spirig sub-8. Can it be done?
Maybe Blummenfelt’s new wetsuit sponsor deboer will help him in this attempt. He joins a superstar line up of triathletes including Jan Frodeno, Laura Siddall, Ben Kanute, and Gustav Iden.
Last week we brought you the Enda, the new shoe from Kenya. But do you know about 361°? They have a new shoe out now which I’d like to get my…feet on.
You don’t have to agree with me, but I think running at dawn is amazing. It never gets old. Asics agrees as reported in Triathlon Canada.
Triathlete Magazine reports how the first Covid triathlons unfolded here.
Just when Aussies Ashleigh Gentle and Jake Birdwhistle get a chance at the Olympics, it looks like...
...the Tokyo Olympics will be canceled. Apparently, the Japanese government knows it will have to cancel them but doesn’t want to say it.
Want to swim like Josh Amberger? Sure you do, we all do. Here’s how.
Liv has been all about getting more women cycling and now they have expanded their roster of riders.
I’ve talked about peeing while you run or ride. This doctor, "The Vagician," says if you’re doing it accidentally and need help, “urine luck!”
Finally, we spotted Bernie all over the course on Kona.
Follow me on Strava and Instagram and I’ll follow you back.
