“Not knowing when the dawn will come, I open every door.” (Emily Dickinson)

Dear Friends,

Needless to say it has been quite a year, and now the hard work to move forward begins! As the pandemic continues to unfold and the vaccine be made available, our prayers are with healthcare providers, first responders, doctors, scientists and caregivers, and especially with all those who have become sick and their families, and for all who have died.

As a new administration is in place, we pray for our leaders and all our citizens as we strive for unity, justice, peace, respect, to celebrate the wonderful blessing our country is and to accept the challenge of working together through past failings, especially as to issues of race and diversity, to become even better.

As our church stands, called to be a beacon of accountability and protection of all, we strive to face any occurrence of abuse and pray especially for victim-survivors. We pray to be the church Christ calls us to be.

As our economy seeks balance, renewal, and prosperity, we commit ourselves to equity and generosity, especially for the poor and anyone left out.

Many doors wait to be opened! A new dawn beckons!

Jesus Christ is with us, ready with the graciousness of his love and example to open them... We just have to knock!

Video Mass for Sunday, January 24th. Here is the recorded Mass for this upcoming Sunday (3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time). We provide a worship aid to help you better enter into the prayer of the Mass. Please know that we will continue these recorded Masses indefinitely. We are so grateful to DV Productions, our Liturgists Mary Robertson and Meggie Moyer, and our cantor Amy Sobczak for their efforts in making our prayer as beautiful as possible.

In Person Mass. Please be sure to register online to attend an in person Mass. Our Mass schedule and registration links can be found on the Reopening and Mass Times pages of the parish website. The links to those pages are included every week at the bottom of this newsletter.

Bulletin Relaunch. Our bulletin relaunches this weekend with a new format! We will have one bulletin for the Family of Four Parishes. Please be sure to read it to get this week’s updates! Click here to view the bulletin or click the picture below.

Parish Financial Support. We continue to be humbled by your financial support of the parish during these tender and tenuous times. Thank you so much, it has been amazing to witness the generosity of so many! Please mail in your envelopes and contributions to our parish office (Old St. Mary Parish, 835 N Milwaukee St, Milwaukee, WI 53202), and our parish staff will process these.

Please do not hesitate to contact me (Cell: 414-762-7986; kitzket@archmil.org) or Fr. John (Cell: 414-305-3824; baumgardnerj@archmil.org) if you need anything! Be assured of our love and prayers.
