Seminole State College of Florida, in collaboration with ZORA! Festival 2021, presents Dr. Regina M. Bradley, Assistant Professor of English and African Diaspora Studies Kennesaw State University.
 
Dr. Regina N. Bradley, author of Boondock Kollage: Stories from the Hip Hop South will discuss the cultural significance of hip hop, with emphasis on the group OutKast and how they use hip hop to expand definitions of southern Blackness and their representations of a consistently evolving performance of race, region, and identity.

Afrofuturism — What is its Sound?” is a 2-day event curated by Dr. Julian Chambliss, professor of English, Michigan State University and ZORA! Festival National Planner. This conference is inspired by Zora Neale Hurston’s legacy of valuing the voices and sounds of black culture and will marry elements of futurism or science fiction to the oral tradition and music technology evident in black history and culture.
