75th Anniversary Celebration

You Can Help Lakewood Care Center
The Lakewood TV Project began providing televisions and DirecTV service to residents of Lakewood Care Center in 2015. Prior to that, there was only one old TV in the common area. Having television service allows residents to stay entertained and connected to the world outside the center. Having service in resident rooms has been especially meaningful during the last year when COVID-19 restrictions kept residents confined to their rooms. $120 funds the cost of DirecTV service to one room for two residents for one year. You can contribute to this program, in any amount, by marking your donation to Unity with "Lakewood TV."

Changes in our Giving Procedures
If you have a recurring gift set up, please pay close attention to this announcement:
Unity is changing the company that we use for processing online payments for credit card and bank account transactions. If you currently have an online recurring payment set up you will need to use the current giving link on our website (go to www.unitypres.org/giving) to set up the recurring payment with our new provider. Once this is completed, you will need to cancel the previous payment by logging on to your Unity Giving account and stopping the recurring payment. We can help you do that if you notify Morris Sample, Treasurer, at wsample@charter.net.
Morris can terminate your previous recurring contribution and also enter the recurring contribution with our new provider. If you would like for us to handle this transfer, please send email to Morris at above email, or call at 704-483-2916. We will need the following information to make the transfer: date for new contribution and frequency, amount of contribution, and funds for your contribution. Please send this information to the email above and we will advise if we need any more information.
If you would like to set up a recurring contribution, you can do so on our our website or by downloading the electronic giving form and returning it to the office. We appreciate all that you do to fund the ministries of Unity!
There are locked black mailboxes on the wall outside the office and the gathering area. This is a place for you to put checks or other correspondence if no one is in the church office.
COVID Policies to Follow
Please help us keep everyone safe by following these easy steps:
- Anyone who is present at a worship service or church event and shows signs of COVID-19 within 5 days of that event are to notify the church office immediately.
- Anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or feeling ill should not attend a worship service or church hosted event.
- Social distancing within church buildings is mandatory.
- Masks are required when on any part of the Unity campus.
- Please refrain from singing during worship services.

The contributions for December totaled $167,530, which is one of the largest amounts in any month. While some of this was from estate gifts, we also saw strong support from the general congregation.This has resulted in starting 2021 in a very strong financial position.
Operating Funds: We ended the year with a net cash increase for the year of $6,128. Our year end Operating cash balance total of $91,266 provides adequate reserves to begin the year. We continue to see increased use of scheduled recurring contributions which provides a more stable cash flow throughout the year. Thank you to those who have scheduled recurring gifts through our new processor.
Building Funds: The total funds received in 2020 has increased the cash reserve and allows us to make additional principal payments on our building loan in 2021. This will decrease the loan balance going forward and reduce the interest that we pay each month.
Solar Project: The solar system continues to function at or above the projected generation. For the last 3 months, the system has provided all the power used by Worship Center (Sanctuary, Gathering Area, Fellowship Hall and Kitchen). The total savings for the first 5 months of operation is $4,045.
