Membership Vote on Annexing the COID Land into the Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association

The Southern Crossing Neighborhood (SCNA) has been working with the Southwest Bend Neighborhood Association (SBNA) to move the undeveloped COID land that is currently within the boundaries of the SBNA into the boundaries of the SCNA.   Pahlisch Homes is attempting to purchase that land to develop it with 720-750 homes and both neighborhood associations are working to have input on that project.  If Pahlisch succeeds, the SBNA does not want the resulting homes in their neighborhood association as they feel they are already too big, but the SCNA is smaller and is willing to grow.  In addition, by annexing this land, the SCNA would have more negotiating power with Pahlisch around saving trails and trees for all of us, as well as other issues.

In order to make a neighborhood association boundary change, both the members of the SBNA and the SCNA need to vote for the change.  SBNA will be voting in April and we are asking you to attend a quick Zoom meeting at 6pm on February 18 to vote YES to SCNA annexing this land.  We are not annexing any current homes – just the undeveloped land.

The City of Bend is supportive of this boundary change and will determine the exact legal description of the change.  It covers the undeveloped land in this map (most of the areas marked B and C, A is already in SCNA):

More Information about Potential Development on COID Land
The meeting described above will be dealing solely with the proposed change of the SCNA boundary, and potential development will not be discussed.  If you would like to know more about this potential development, please read this recent newsletter.  You can also sign up for future email updates on that page, or you can sign up here.  (This development mailing list is separate from the SCNA list from which this email was sent.)
