Director of Surgical Services, VA/NC area-250 bed range-need candidates with previous director experience at a similar size facility with similar surgical services (Ortho, General, ENT, Spine, Urology, and Vascular.)  They need a good number of years in the OR and at least 2-3 as a director over OR, sterile processing, same day, and PACU.  This is not a good fit for a first time OR director. The Director of Surgical Services has direct line authority for the Operating Rooms, Pre-Op Services, Same Day Surgery Unit, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and the hospital’s Central Sterilization service.  There are roughly 60 staff within the areas of responsibility.  The department includes 11 operational ORs and typically runs 4-6 rooms daily which perform between 350 and 450 cases per month across a range of surgical specialties.  The director serves as the primary liaison with the contracted anesthesia service, performing quality oversight and coordination with the service as well as the primary liaison with the Surgical Executive Committee which is responsible for medical oversight of surgical practice within the hospital. Last, the director, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, is primary lead for development and execution of action plans to grow the business and continuously improve quality measures across the surgical services department.
