Thank you for supporting our program!

You are receiving this email because you volunteered at a FIRST Tech Challenge event in Missouri last year. We wanted to thank you for your time and effort in making SKYSTONE such a successful season. We served approximately 2,300 students on 212 teams at 38 Meets, 7 Qualifiers, 2 Conference Qualifiers and 1 State Championship. The icing on the cake is that we completed the season before COVID shutdown! Note - we still have lots of Build Tomorrow volunteer pins, stickers and patches if you didn't get one.

The ULTIMATE GOAL season has been greatly impacted by the COVID environment. We have moved to a remote model of gameplay. This allows the teams to run their robot in their own space, on a half field and submit scores electronically.
  • We are offering 9 weeks of Meets for the 5 Leagues for a total of 45 Meets opportunities. We started Meets the week after Thanksgiving and will finish on February 20th. No volunteers are needed for Meets.
  • The extended timeline is in hopes of more teams having an opportunity to meet, learn and build.
  • Our League Championships (Qualifiers in previous years) are scheduled for the last week of February and the first two weeks of March. Teams have the whole week to submit match scores just like they did for Meets. Judging will be done remotely on the Saturdays. We need Judge volunteers for League Championships.
We would like to ask all of you, no matter what role you have played in the past, to please consider judging this season. Without the need for refs, FTAs, field reset, etc. you can try something new! There is online training and our new Regional Judge Advisor, Jared Fordham, would like to implement local zoom calls for training on the process and assignments two days before each event.

The events are all in the system for you to choose from your FIRST Dashboard
Since there is no travel involved, you can choose any of the events and maybe even more than one. We'd love to see people going to a different event and meeting new volunteers and teams.
  • 2/27 - NE1 League Championship
  • 3/6 - SE and NW League Championships
  • 3/13 - NE2 and SW League Championships

Other judging opportunities:

  • Dean's List interviews will be handled as a single event. Nominations are due by 2/15. We will then determine the number of judges needed to complete the interviews. All interviews will be remote. Schedules are TBD. You can sign up on the FIRST Dashboard now - the event is currently listed as 3/6.
  • State Championship will also have remote judging but we have not finalized the date.

Thank you for considering volunteering for the ULTIMATE GOAL season in Missouri. We couldn't provide this amazing experience without you. Stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you on a Zoom call soon!
