We celebrate everyone who helped make the Maji project a success. Caroline Kurtz notified us that the Maji hospital solar power equipment has reached Ethiopia. She sent a video to express her appreciation to SPC, and the Mission Team joins her in thanking you for this wonderful expression of God’s love!
THANK YOU SANDIA!
UPDATE ON MAJI HOSPITAL

CLICK THE WHITE TRIANGLE ABOVE TO WATCH THE VIDEO

We have heard from Caroline Kurtz that the Maji hospital solar power equipment has reached Ethiopia via the port in Djibouti. There have been a number of unexpected hoops to jump through to get the equipment into Ethiopia and ready for travel to Maji, and these are still being worked out. One hoop involved getting it out of the Djibouti port in time two weeks or facing a $20,000 fine! Thankfully (and somewhat miraculously, from Caroline’s report), that hurdle is being cleared today. Caroline sent this video to express her appreciation to SPC, and the Mission Team joins her in thanking you for this wonderful expression of God’s love!
Meal Delivery Request
We have two members of our congregation requesting meal delivery. If interested please contact Sheri DeGroat at (505)604-9410 or degroatsheri@gmail.com
Parking Lot Movie Night
Bring your family to an outdoor parking lot showing of The Princess Bride at SPC on Saturday, February 13. The movie will start at 6:30pm so come early to get a spot. We will project the movie HUGE on the north gym wall and listen to audio on FM. Drive in, bring your own popcorn or snacks, stay safely in your car, and enjoy! SPC's building will be open solely for bathroom use. Come with your family, and invite friends to come in their cars too. All are welcome!
Grief Share Facilitators Needed!
Have you experienced the deep grief of losing a loved one to death  and learned valuable lessons and experienced healing from the hurt?  Please help others do the same!  Pray about becoming part of our church’s grief support ministry team.  We use a  GriefShare program, a 13 week, video-based, small group seminar.  We have resumed our meetings in a hybrid  format (simultaneous meetings with some attending in-person and others attending via Zoom).  Our participants are very grateful for this source of support especially while they are so isolated due to the pandemic restrictions.  We hope to continue this ministry but need facilitators who can guide our participants along the way from mourning to joy.
To learn more about facilitating with our Grief Share ministry, please contact Carolyn Havlen at 856-3306 or rjhavlen@yahoo.com or
Rev. Jeff Pearson at the church (856-5040) or jeffp@sandiapres.org.
“Gifts of Love” Food Drive
Sandia Presbyterian Church’s food bank is requesting donations of non-perishable food items through February 14th. We support food ministries at The Storehouse, Cornerstone Church’s Free Store, Steelbridge, and Rio Grande Food Project. Collection bins are in Fellowship Hall and outside the gym. Monetary donations would also be greatly appreciated.
