Dear Neighbors,

Getting vaccinated is one more tool we can use to help slow the spread of the virus. Vaccines are safe and effective, and you should plan to get vaccinated when it is your turn.

All healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents in Phase 1A are currently eligible to be vaccinated. The State of California has now authorized all healthcare systems statewide to vaccinate any persons age 65 and older, in addition to continuing vaccinations for healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities. However, due to limited vaccine supply, most healthcare providers are only offering vaccination to patients age 75 and older at this time. The County does not determine vaccine eligibility. As more vaccine supply becomes available, healthcare providers will expand access to additional groups.

Thanks to swift coordination between the County of Santa Clara and the City of Mountain View, a new mass vaccination appointment only site for the public opened in Mountain View on Friday. The site will begin services gradually to prevent appointment delays and will ramp up quickly to provide up to 1,000 vaccinations per weekday. Vaccine appointments can be made through sccFreeVax.org.

Enjoy your weekend,
County of Santa Clara

Testing positive for COVID-19 can be scary, but you are not alone. If you get a call from 916-262-7553 or CA COVID team, a contact tracer is calling to support you. Check out our Instagram carousel and visit sccStayHome.org for more information.
Just because something is open, it doesn’t mean it’s COVID-free. Stay home for the people who can’t stay home. It takes all of us working together to slow the spread of the virus.
