This 1-hr webinar will showcase the operational applications of the FastTRAC genomics project to tree improvement programs in Quebec and New Brunswick. Genomic selection involves genotyping and modeling to predict associations between genetic markers and phenotypic traits of interest (e.g. growth, wood density, insect resistance). This new technology can accelerate the selection of trees with desirable genetic characteristics for breeding and seed production.
