Dear Early Childhood Leaders,
On Dec. 18, 2020, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced an additional $2.8 million in emergency grants to support child care providers and help them stay in business through the public health emergency. The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is working with the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) to make $2.8 million in emergency grants available to both subsidy and non-subsidy child care providers in early 2021.
We are pleased to announce applications for the DC Child Care Road to Recovery Fund will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021.

Key Features:
- Grants of up to $50,000 are available, and will be determined by program type and size
- Priority will be given to child development facilities that meet certain criteria, outlined in the application
- Grant application will launch at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021
- Grant application will close at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021
Grants may be used to cover the following expenses:
- Payroll
- Other routine operating expenses (e.g., rent, utilities, insurance, etc.)
- Furniture and program materials to meet health and safety guidelines (e.g., room dividers, additional materials to facilitate social distancing guidelines, etc.)
- Sanitation supplies (e.g., cleaning supplies, masks, thermometers, portable sinks, etc.)
