From the Pastor's Desk: Counting Our Blessings

Spiritual CommunionDear Friends in Christ,

I feel so fortunate that our Masses online are so very well received.

It is always an honor and a pleasure for me to celebrate Mass with all my Parishioners / Followers either in Church or at home.

It is an awesome thought for me to realize that as a Priest I have the power of bringing Christ down to earth at the time of the Consecrations of the bread and wine, thus becoming the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It seems like just yesterday that I was ordained 33 years ago. I was fairly young in October of 1987, and now, at almost 70 years of age, I feel no older in spirit, but I am feeling a bit older in physical stamina, although I am blessed with much energy.

The operative word is “blessed." Do we ever Count Your Blessings.

Sit down to list all the blessings from God that we take for granted.

Surely, our blessings outweigh our hardships, and even during hardship God is with us.

So, as we look forward to Spring (less than two months of Winter left) we always look forward to Christ’s presence in our respective lives every day of our lives.

Dear God, thank you for your daily grace and blessings. Help me be an instrument of your goodness. Grant me the patience to be forever kind to others, even when I feel pressured with life's demands.

Give me a desire at all times to love You by loving others. Please forgive me my human frailties and offer me the assistance necessary to rise above the feelings of ire that sometimes hinder me in being a disciple of your everlasting grace to others.

Amen.

Peace, Fr. Jim
