Keeping Montclair Residents Informed

Virtual Town Hall Health Equity: Building Trust in the Covid-19 Vaccine
Dear Friends,

The Coronavirus pandemic is one of the greatest public health crises in history. While it has touched every corner of our society, communities of color have suffered disproportionately.  Now that we have safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, we must ensure that no one is left behind.  To accomplish this, we have to collectively work to build trust in the vaccine by confronting history and clearly communicating the science behind the vaccines.

I am thrilled to have Dr. Chris T. Pernell, M.D. join me in a discussion about healthy equity and building trust among communities of color in the COVID-19 vaccine.  Dr. Pernell is a leading voice for justice in healthcare and has appeared on MSNBC, CNN and more to discuss her work and decision to participate in the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine trials.

The virtual town hall will take place on Wednesday, January 27th at 10 a.m. on Zoom.  I hope you will be able to join us for this conversation about history, how we can ensure health and vaccine equity, and explore the science behind the vaccines.  The public will be able to submit questions in advance to question@seanspiller.com or during the town hall.
