"The Nature of Westborough"

WCLT's 2021 Amateur Photography Contest!
With many families hiking and taking photos during the pandemic, here's a great way to showcase the best of Westborough’s natural beauty!

Entrants must be Westborough residents, and photographs must be nature-inspired and taken in Westborough from January 1, 2020-February 28, 2021. Date and location info for each entry is required.

Plants, trees, flowers, sunsets, sunrises, ponds, rivers, wildlife… so many beautiful images to capture!

Prizes for adult and youth categories will be awarded!

A Few Days in the Galapagos Islands (Virtual Presentation)

7:00-8:00 pm
Situated in the Pacific Ocean some 600 miles from the South American continent, the nineteen Galapagos Islands and the surrounding marine reserve have been called a unique “living museum and showcase of evolution.” We will explore a small portion of the archipelago, primarily around Santa Cruz, and see many of the unique species that inspired Darwin in 1835. Travel vicariously through wildlife photographer Garry Kessler’s stunning photos, which he took on his “bucket list” trip there in 2018. Westborough Wildflower Hunt
March-June 2021
Help WCLT inventory the wildflowers on our properties by taking part in this fun scavenger hunt! Check WCLT’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/westboroughlandtrust every month, where we will post pictures of wildflowers that bloom that month. If you see those flowers on WCLT properties, comment with a picture and include where you saw it. Have fun and learn to identify local wildflowers at the same time! Please, absolutely no picking flowers or damaging plants!
 
Earth Day Town-Wide Cleanup
Saturday, April 17, 2020, Morning, OR week of April 10-17
Online Signup by April 9 Only—No Same-Day or Walk-In Registration.
Join the annual town-wide litter clean-up sponsored by WCLT!
NOTE: Due to continued coronavirus concerns, no in-person signups or picnic will take place; all signups MUST be done online by April 9. Go to https://westboroughlandtrust.org/ between April 1-9 to sign up and choose an area to clean. Trash bags will be dropped off at participants’ homes by the 10th or you can arrange to pick them up. You can clean your chosen area any day or time before noon on April 17. Leave closed bags by the road, and they will be removed on April 17. For the cleanup, wear gloves, long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy shoes. For questions contact: earthday@westboroughlandtrust.org
