"Whatever you do, do you work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men" Colossians 3:23

JANUARY 2021

Dear <<First Name>>,

Ministry is never dependent on a specific location, never punches a time clock, and is not limited to a particular group of people. Christians are called to serve wherever, whenever and to whomever God leads. Our work as missionaries is not paralyzed by unforeseen circumstances, nor political corruption; but instead, we adapt, adjust and apply God’s word to every situation and event.

While we have been waiting for the restrictions to change in France, we have been actively involved and serving in ministry, both locally and globally by meeting the spiritual needs of those whom we encounter. We are regularly in contact with our church planting partners in France through technology while serving in various ways here in the States.
Recently, a pastor from our home church in California contacted me about a woman in France who called the church for counsel. She has no doctrinally sound church to provide biblical counseling at her location and she has many serious problems. I (James) was able to counsel, pray and share the word of God with her and her fiancé in France through many phone calls and emails. Pray for this young woman who believes she is tormented by demons, has no security in Christ and says that she is close to dying.
The French government continues to enforce lockdowns that destroy businesses, increase personal debt and make their people dependent on them for daily bread. Christians in France are concerned as the President believes that children belong to the Republic before they belong to the parents.  Ungodly governments will always attempt to usurp their role and censor truth, as we have witnessed here on our own soil. Opposition to the gospel is not new as we read the pages of Scripture and look at church history. But the same pages of Scripture that reveal man’s depravity in this world also provides guaranteed hope grounded in the very promises of God for those with persevering faith in Jesus.

Homeschooling to be outlawed in France?
Please continue to pray regarding the ban of homeschooling. The bill to ban homeschooling was passed and will go into effect September 2021. There may be some exceptions applied depending on the circumstances, but the push is that only health exceptions will be permitted.
