Writing + Wellness Workshops provide a virtual space for students, faculty and staff to relax, reflect and realize wellness at UCI. In a casual, salon-style space, participants consider how they are—or are not—caring for their minds, bodies and communities. Join using the zoom link here.

Volunteer Opportunity: Ants in Your Plants

Ants in Your Plants Garden s a student-led effort to fight food insecurity on campus and promote sustainable practices. The garden project is a collaborative partnership among the ASUCI Sustainability and Garden Commission, the UCI Sustainability Resource Center, the FRESH Basic Needs Hub, and Arroyo Vista Housing. Volunteer Opportunity with Innovare Environmental


Are you interested in a volunteer opportunity involving sustainable uses of food waste, more specifically FOG (fats, oils, and grease)? Innovare Environmental helps restaurants properly dispose of used cooking oil, and earn an additional source of revenue as well as save money in plumbing repairs and grease trap pumpings. Contact Danielle Drake, a fourth year Environmental Engineering UCI student, for more information at djdrake@uci.edu

Innovation Prize

This prize is a pitch competition that uniquely supports startups (with student members) with non-dilutive funding and bespoke industry mentorship. Your plan can target anywhere across the food system and is open to applicants from the U.S., Canada and Mexico. 1st place team receives $20,000 and 2nd place team receives $10,000. Learn more here.

Dorris Duke Conservation Scholarship

The goal of the Conservation Scholars Program is to grow a diverse community of emerging leaders to strengthen conservation. You will enjoy two fully-funded summers in an immersive mentorship program focused on Conservation Research, Leadership, Communication, and Professional Skills, and join a network of 500+ conservation leaders. Climate Tech & Energy Prize @ MIT

Previously known as the Clean Energy Prize @ MIT competition, CEP is now the ClimateTech & Energy Prize @ MIT competition to be inclusive of all climatetech related problems and to move the world closer to net zero carbon emissions. As the largest and longest-running competition for student-led climatetech startups in the world with over 550 applicants, over 200 mentored teams, and over $2.8M in awarded cash prizes, teams compete for more than $100,000 in prize money and have access to mentoring and other resources.
