Twinfield Together Mentoring Program
Strengthening youth and community through a culture of mentoring since 2009
Happy National Mentoring Month,
Happy 2021 and Happy National Mentoring Month! This month is a great time to remember what an impact mentoring has in our community - but also reminds us that mentoring is a world wide movement that impacts lots of people. It is well documented across our country that kids need mentors now, more than ever, and Covid is making it difficult to stay connected. This is a great article in the New York Times, "I Know I’m Not Alone’: The Importance of Mentors Right Now."

I hope you have a chance to check out the #IAMAMENTOR poster series on our website, and like us on facebook and instagram where we will be sharing thank you notes fro mentees to mentors for the next few weeks. (if you want to add your thoughts to this series, just let me know, I would love to hear why you are a mentor!)

We also know that life is unpredictable for many of us still, so let's be in touch soon to see how you think things are going for you and your mentee, and if there will be any changes in your relationship once covid restrictions are lifted.

Be Well,
Pam & Fiona

Virtual Mentoring

We know virtual mentoring is not the same. Here are some ideas of what other pairs are doing to stay connected - until we can meet again! (SOON, I HOPE)

  • Setting a weekly "tea time" or lunch date to talk and catch up. (most kids are home 3 days a week with a computer available)
  • Playing online scrabble  -together against the computer.
  • Watching a movie together on zoom (just share your screen)
  • Playing games and reading books over facetime, and google hangouts.
  • Texting each other (send a joke, cat meme or picture) to give some focus to your text
We have tried lots of ideas, and are willing to help you set up your meetings, support you during your meetings, and even drop off craft materials and books as needed. So please, don't hesitate to ask for help.

That's what we are here for,
Pam & Fiona

Mentor Podcast

The podcast Muse Mentors sees host Karen Kevra talk with artists and performers about their work, but also the teachers and mentors who shaped their creative process. Click here to learn more

Youth Legislative Lunch

Mentor Vermont is looking for mentor pairs that would like to join us for their virtual lunch with our legislators. If this is something you would like to do - reach out to me (or directly to your mentee) to see if they can participate too. If you pan to attend, please let me know (I would like to deliver you a special dessert to enjoy that day for your lunch)
