Diversity and Social Justice

January 2021

Dear DSJ Colleague,

"We have a long way to go, but we are encouraged by the way UD has recognized where it must change and is taking concrete actions to build a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable University of Dayton for the future" says President Spina in his Dayton Daily News column.

I hope this new year refreshes our commitment and brings us closer to our students and mission.

In this DSJ update, we share with you the dates and times for our DSJ Hangout sessions, an upcoming opportunity to partake in a DSJ student assessment in collaboration with the Diversity ILG group, as well as a series of stories, short anti-racism videos, and opportunities for you and your students. Feel free to disseminate those as you see fit.

You will also find DSJ Q&A, a new space designed to address any questions you may share with us including pedagogy tips, research ideas, or any related issues that may be of interest to our colleagues.

Let us continue to collaborate, connect, actively care for our students, and practice wellbeing. Please do not hesitate to reach out if I can be of any support or assistance as we navigate Spring 2021 together.

Looking forward,

Youssef Farhat
