Unlike last week, this week's Crab will be coming to you RAW. We repeat, it will need to be cooked.
We will live clean it for you, meaning you will get a cleaned half of a crab, per single share.
Live cleaned Crab need to be cooked within 24 hours.
We've got some delicious recipes below but some other simple ways to prepare your Crab are:
Boiled - you can simply boil your crab in salted water for about 12-15 minutes. We like to add Crab Boil Seasoning to our water.
Steamed - place Crab in a wok or other large pan with a lid and cover the crab about 1/2 way with the liquid of your choice and any seasonings/herbs. Hans' favorite combo is beer and Old Bay! Place the lid on tight and let steam for about 12-15 mins.
Roasted - My personal favorite. When I do this, I pre-boil my crab for about 7-8 minutes. I then break it apart and and toss all the pieces in olive oil and whatever spices I'm in the mood for. I'd go with this Thai Chili Pepper olive oil for a spicy kick and include garlic, red chili pepper flakes and some fresh herbs. Bake at 400 for about 15 minutes giving it a stir about half way. A pad of butter or two thrown in the mix is never frowned upon in our house either. 😉Even a drizzle of Bachans would add some sticky sweetness to your Crab.
I'm very excited about the new condiment we have in stock this week as I've been trying to get it on our shelves for months! Fly By Jing Sichuan Chili Crisp would be GREAT tossed over the finished Crab or even before baking.
