Here's a Pintrest Style List of "Fun" things to do.  You can scroll through, or take your time and read the captions.  We'd love to see what you do for fun too!
Sometimes we're tempted to get down and out or wish we were somewhere else where it seems "better".  But there's no denying, "here" is where we are and where God has blessed us to be.  So rather than entertain the woe-is-me attitude, we strive to take a different route.
Sometimes just looking at life from a different angle makes us not take ourselves too seriously and awakens joy.
A while back Nehemiah and Hannah found an old ping pong set.  No table?  No problem.  They simply put it on the kitchen table.  The uneven playable length and surface made for an added challenge.  Darlene came out the victor in our tournament, undoubtedly due to her superior form (compared with the rest of the competition), fighter spirit, and distracting good looks.
With an abundance of fresh air and outback roads, Nathan and Christopher, have been enjoying the beauty and challenge of local riding.  It's also provided some good opportunities to share the gospel with gathered crowds when we stop for a lunch break or bike repair.  Nehemiah joins in on very local rides on his mini-dirt bike.
Dress-up is always fun. Spirit weeks at school provide several opportunities for our kids.  Most of the time we dress up as missionaries serving in a very muddy or dusty place, trying to look nice, but not forgetting practicality. Dress pants and mud boots often go together for Christopher.
Hanging out with friends is such a privilege and joy; we've all been reminded of that during this current season!
School teachers love parties. A recent gathering became even more exciting when the hosts brought the pythons out to socialize.  One of them desired a bit more social distancing so was allowed to hang out on the clothes line and work on his tan.
Tubing down the CHILLY nearby river with new friends gets even more exciting with cliff jumping. (It was safe - don't worry.) Click above for Nathan's cliff action, click below for Nehemiah's.

Mountain biking cemetery hill, appropriately named for function and effect.
Mile-high "fun" runs are always an option, too.
Some PNG firewood is nearly fire-proof!. Here, the shop vac proved to be "bellows on steroids" and soon we were enjoying an evening around the campfire.
Beautiful day hikes!
And now you can just imagine the photos of thrilling water slide adventures, homemade fireworks (twirling burning steel wool on a metal string), community ultimate Frisbee games, tennis matches, family story and worship times, crafts and fix-it projects, picnics, and impromptu dramatic endeavors.  Thank you, God, for creating a longing for fun in our hearts and for granting us permission to live life fully!
