Rounding out the top 10 on the home equipment list is the venerable treadmill. They tend to be the biggest, most expensive pieces of equipment but they're worth having, especially in the winter!

Home Equipment - 10: Treadmill

Part review, part comparison to my trusty, old Pacemaster treadmill. My impressions on this newfangled (sort of) machine.

RETRO POST: 6 December 2014

They're important all the time (especially for folks over 40) but tend to be even moreso in winter. Warm it up, baby!

NEWS AND NOTES

Don't try this at home. Oh wait...

Happy New Year!

Winter is a great time for indoor projects around the house. This issue's exercise is an oldie because my fitness area ("home gym") is undergoing some remodeling. It's still functional, but not presentable.

Winter projects don't have to mean working on the house; they can mean working on you, too. Many people make "New Year's Resolutions" that involve personal projects such as improving body composition (too often mischaracterized as simply "losing weight") or doing 5000 steps a day.

These resolutions almost never work (see gyms fill up in January and return to normal by March). Instead, you can try simply building new habits, preferably one at a time. You might try the at https://programs.clearerthinking.org/daily_ritual.html . It's free so why not give it a try? (Note: I haven't used it, but I've used other tools on their site.)

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay strong. Literally. And have a great 2021!

Be seeing you.

RECIPE
Recipe: Spagetti Squash (the EASY way)

A friend recommended cutting spaghetti squash cross-wise for longer noodles. Searching on that gave me a different way to cook it as well.

Try it!
