Hello lovely,
As some of you will remember, a little while ago I started a new Instagram account to share sustainable Airbnbs and searching for new ones has become a bit of an obsession for me.
When I’ve finished my working day I’m often half watching Netflix, half scrolling through Instagram trying to find new ones to add to my growing list.
You may wonder why I’m searching on Insta rather than on Airbnb, but unfortunately Airbnb doesn’t make it easy to find them.
So far there isn’t a filter for things like off grid stays or green homes, which I find a little surprising. I mean, they do have a filter to help you find homes with pianos and indoor fireplaces, and you can narrow your search to just look at chalets or lofts or bungalows.
Maybe one day they’ll get there and introduce greener filters but until then I’m on the hunt.
To make things easier I’ve just created new pages for different parts of the world. It’s early days at the moment but for now I have a special page sharing great sustainable Airbnbs in Australia, another one for green Airbnbs in America and another for Europe.
It’s exciting to find new ones, and I love connecting with the owners of some of the properties through Insta DMs, and chatting to them about what they’ve created.
There are so many wonderful, interesting people out there making great places for us to go and stay, and while a lot of them are going on my long term wish list for when we can travel overseas again, I’ve already stayed at some in Australia and can’t wait to stay in more.
How about you? Have you stayed in any great eco accommodation around the world?
If so do let me know. I love hearing about new ones and am going to do more stories about all sorts of green stays on the blog too, so they don’t have to be Airbnbs for you to share. You can just hit reply on this email or share over on my Insta.
Now I’m off to do some more hunting and dreaming. Have a great one until we speak again.
xA
