Hello <<First Name>>,

If you have recently joined me, Welcome.

Perhaps, you may not know, but I started the Jottings in the autumn of 2015. But, unlike my cobweb-filled blog, I've kept at it. Hence, this is the 200th letter to You.

While this may not be considered a milestone by many, for me, a non-writer, it's HUGE. Although writing continues to be a challenge, it has, thankfully, become less fraught with anxiety.

Thank you!

Ready for This?

As promised last week: here's The Eggplant! While I envisioned her as being more round on top, She changed a bit during the shaping process.

Here's the sketch -

Must say that She turned out better than expected. She is both sculptural AND adorable. In addition, the underside of her brim is a contrasting apricot color, sort of reminiscent of sauteed eggplant!

Sewing the Liner

This was an adventure that could be its own blog post--  "Experiments with Linings"! It was _very_ fiddly work.

There are two pieces of silk fabric that are nunofelted on one edge into the inside of the hat. After the hat was felted and dried, I needed to sew the pieces together to make them into a tube.

The piece of notebook paper was a later brainwave. I only thought of it after inadvertently catching the other side of the fabric -TWICE! 😥

The silk lining adds an extra bit of luxury to this wonderful hat.

I'm in LOVE and hope that you will be too!

Thank you for accompanying me on this journey!
Wishing you a creative and happy week.

With appreciation,
