Early this week, Faith Commons wrote and circulated a letter to the statewide elected leaders in Texas, opposing President Trump's visit to the border. You can read the letter here, which gained over 100 signatures of faith leaders. It received some attention from the media, but so far, no response from the governor, lieutenant governor or attorney general.

Upcoming: Healthcare in Texas

Dear Friends,

On Monday afternoon, Jan. 25, Faith Commons will host a program via Zoom to discuss

  1. The state of healthcare in Texas,
  2. How we feel as people of faith about living in the state with the highest uninsured rate in the U.S., and
  3. What advocacy we might want to pursue specifically related to access to health care in the upcoming state legislative session.

We invite you to RSVP and to look over the following reading list prior to the event. If you have questions you'd like to address, please send those to Nancy Kasten.
