The 23rd annual workshop shows that nothing stop us from sharing tai chi, technology can enhance it.

Dr Lam's Upcoming Tai Chi Workshops

Hello <<First Name>>,

The 23rd annual workshop was immensely fun and rewarding. Here is my welcome address, and a great talk “Inspiring Health for All” by Professor Lau, the chairperson of the Tai Chi for Health Institute board. Enjoy his message about how teaching tai chi can fulfill all 6 Es for health. I will share more material at the Feb Newsletter.

The workshop enjoys record-breaking attendance. Thanks to the many master and senior trainers for facilitating, and my workshop team’s dedication. We were inundated with positive feedback, almost everyone appreciated the time we spent together to develop tai chi and harmony. Thanks Nuala from the UK for staying up to midnight to help.

I am planning to have more online webinars and workshops for all of my programs and advanced sets. They will be available in two weeks at the Feb Newsletter. As my team are adapting to the virtual settings, we maintain the same unique features for my instructional materials, and in some ways even better. For example, you can access the recordings of these workshops even if you are not able to attend at www.onlinetaichiworkshops.com .

Below are Nuala’s encouraging, Bob’s poetic and Lesley heartwarming notes about the workshop:

Nuala Perrin from UK
Over the last year, I have attended US and AUS, virtual Webinars and Workshops.  Looking back on all those experiences, I have found that we are indeed a strong Tai Chi family and all work as one, no matter which country we are from.  We all have the same goals, and all love what we do.

The structure, safe teaching method, and effectiveness of all the TCH Programs are the best I  have seen, and are well known for their efficacy throughout.

I feel we have all gained so much from this last year that we will take forward to make us all stronger and kinder.

Bob Casey from USA
I have found your online lessons to be a godsend during the pandemic. Thus far, using ZOOM, a combination of your lessons, and my follow-up instruction, I have been able not only to reach my local students but have participants from throughout Utah and four other states. As I have learned to improve my online instructional techniques along with your instructions, I have found even greater success. What has evolved following a complete lesson sequence, I then offer a beginner's option for new students and a continuing option for those who have participated in the first round of instruction. Of course, the original participants can also opt for the beginner's class. Thus far, I have used the online lessons to teach Sun 73, Yang 24, and Energy 1 and 2. At the end of each course, we celebrate a virtual tea ceremony plus a drawing for those who have perfect attendance.

Another advantage of the courses is the personal enrichment. Though I studied the above courses, some for over seven years, I found that my forms have become what might be described as "a bit rusty". Thus, I have also learned along with my students. Secondly, by subscribing to the full programs, I have been able to access other courses which I do not
know but have wanted to learn.

Even when we return to in-person classes, I will continue to offer a ZOOM option using your online classes. For my in-class instruction, on occasion, I will also use the online lessons projected on the wall. In the past, using the DVDs, I have had excellent success with this process.

Lesley Prosser from Australia
Thank you so much Paul, and thank you for your superhuman effort in teaching all of those classes yourself.  I am lost in admiration for your energy and commitment.  I teach five TCA classes a week at U3A over two days, and that is absolutely my limit.

I certainly achieved my personal goal for the week, which was to experience all the sets to help me decide which one to go for next.  I had thought the Sun 73, but wondered if that was possibly the lazy option, as I already know most of the forms.  However, by the end of the week I realised that the Sun 73 really was my favourite, and learning the sequence will me more than enough challenge for my 75yo brain.

Again, thank you, and I’m soooo looking forward to face-to-face classes in the near future.

I have just made the most sought after workshop for the last 18 years, my Exploring the Depth of the Tai Chi Arthritis and Fall Prevention available on the online lesson platform, at the workshop I explain the deeper and inner meaning of each movement and the ultimate purpose of tai chi. I show you how to incorporate the key principles of tai chi to each form, how to cultivate the qi (internal life energy), convert it to jing (internal force) and use that to propel the next wave of qi. These concept and method are applicable to any style and form of tai chi. If you were unable to travel to this workshop before, or have done it and would like to consolidate and learn new material, check it out.

My coming workshops:

Yours in Tai Chi,
