DEAR CRAG SUPPORTERS

At the end of December we wrote to you about our idea for the 2021 CRAG Challenge to raise funds for our Christmas and New Year appeal ‘Help Save Young Lives - Support Safe Passage’.

Since then some of us have set ourselves a personal New Year challenge (details below) and asked people to sponsor us. The response from donors has been amazing and we recently met our fundraising target of £2,500 for Safe Passage! So we’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to all our supporters for this achievement.

Not only did we manage to reach our target, we have also exceeded it, and we would like to send any further funds raised for this appeal to choose Choose Love (https://helprefugees.org/) which provides basic necessities - food, shelter, warm clothes - to refugees in desperate need, in the camps in Greece or the streets of Calais.

There’s still time to sponsor us - we’ve listed our challenges below. Each person has their own JustGiving page so you can donate online. Your donation will go directly to CRAG to help support refugee charities.

Also we’d love to hear from you if you decided to take part. What challenge did you set yourself, and how are you getting on? Please email secretary@charlburyrefugee.org.uk or post an update on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/charlburyrefugee

And it’s still not too late to take up your own challenge...find out how to get involved

John Dunleavy is going to walk 100 miles by his birthday, on 10th  February! John is keeping a note of the birds he sees whilst out on his walks. To support John or to look at the birds he has seen so far please visit his JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/john-dunleavy

Vicky Buser is working to do a five-minute plank (which should like the photo!) on her 50th birthday at the end of January. It's tough. Currently she can hold the pose for 3 minutes 45 seconds. Sponsor her at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Vicky-Buser

Fran Webber is painting a picture every day in January for her CRAG challenge. She’s raised nearly 70 percent of her fundraising target.

You can see the pictures she’s painted so far on her JustGiving page, which is here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/frances-webber2

Val Parker has challenged herself to run 100 km by the end of January - mainly across the muddy fields around Charlbury She’s reached 64 km - and it’s certainly been muddy!

She’s reached 82% of her fundraising target. If you want to top this up please visit her fundraising page:  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Val-Parker3
