Children's Art Classes from the Comfort of Your Home

A space dedicated to supporting the development through artistic learning

Classes begin February 17th

This 10 week program is focused on helping children build a strong relationship between themselves and their at home studio space by establishing a weekly art practice. The class is material based, giving children a safe and creative environment to express themselves in. Each student will receive a box of high quality art materials to use for the 10 week program.
-For children age 8-12 years old
-Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 pm 
February 17- April 21st 2021
-This program is free of charge for those that need it most!

Emily has 15 years of experience teaching art to children in non-profits, art museums, the United States, Tanzania, and India. She has a bachelors in Art Education from California State University Chico. Enthusiasm and creativity are inspiring and she hopes to share her love of art with her students.  

The Santa Barbara Centre for Aerial Dance Keeps Flying

The SBCAD, Company in Residence at the CAW, just keeps adapting and innovating to meet the safety needs of COVID, keep dancers in the air, and keep teaching classes for youth and adults. Lethe Productions Presents:

The Labyrinth Project

A virtual theater/film piece for our Santa Barbara community

It was good having Joe Velasco and Sio Tepper back at the CAW last week continuing the tradition they began with Cuentos del Pueblo, one of the CAW's first arts residency projects. This year they're organized as Lethe Productions, "a collaborative artistic endeavor that bring a multimedia approach to creating and showcasing original work from local Santa Barbara artists."

According to Joe, "The basic premise is to give artists an ongoing platform to showcase their work in a safe space to create community and respond to the events in the worlds around us. A curated group of local artists performed original pieces... including spoken word, dance, theater, and art. Structured around the Winter Solstice, the Labyrinth project allows artists to explore more introspective pieces that deal with the themes of survival, rebirth, and critical hope." 

The finished film will be released online in the coming weeks.
