AGENDA

2020 Election Analysis - Presented by Claudia Sandoval

Precinct Organization will be March 6 through March 20 via ZOOM. We will discuss the best ways to do them for your precinct needs.

Election of 4 SEC delegates to fill four vacancies that were left due to job changes and COVID restrictions.

2 women and 2 men.

These seats will be temporary and but need to be in place so they can cast votes for the new state candidates during the next SEC Meeting via ZOOM on February 27

The NCDP will have a candidate page up shortly showing all the candidates and bios, the link is shown below.

2021 Winter SEC Meeting:  The 2021 Winter SEC Meeting Is just around the corner (Saturday, February 27th) - more information and relevant meeting resources, such as registration and a digital packet, will be provided soon but in the meantime, we have developed an SEC Meeting Landing Page that will regularly be updated with more information. We encourage you to visit: https://www.ncdp.org/2021-winter-sec/ and check it out.
Remember our SEC Delegates will be our representatives that will vote for the new slate of NCDP officers.  Any Democrat is welcome to view the SEC Meeting, but only SEC members vote.

County/HQ Threats: Shortly after Election Day, some of you have expressed concerns of threats that have been made to local county party headquarters -- and after the events, we witnessed last week, we can only prepare for more of those threats to come in. We encourage you to contact local authorities if you or county party volunteers are threatened or if calls are made that are of concern to your safety and your building’s safety. Let us know if you or your county party have experienced any recent threats or if threats are made in the coming days.  The NCDP has provided us with a form to use for filing any threat, just let us know immediately, and obviously, we encourage you to call the local authorities

Presidential Inaugural Committee’s Day of Service:  The Biden Inauguration Committee is encouraging people all across the country to embrace their theme of America United and to participate in a Day of Service. The day, January 18th is already one which we dedicate to service in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. We are encouraging County Parties to show that the Democratic ideals of community and compassion are strong in North Carolina by participating in a contactless food drive. Let’s show North Carolina and the nation that Democrats care about our communities. Let’s honor our incoming President and Vice President by supporting his efforts to start Building Back Better.

Since we are in COVID and do not have a secure location for food drop-off so we are sending a donation to Common Heart and asking everyone to send thank you cards to our local non-profits for their community service.

Call Congress: Tell NC’S Republican members of Congress that you support President Trump’s swift, lawful removal from office. After inciting the insidious violence and attacks at the Capitol last week, it is clear President Trump is unfit to serve and remains a threat to our democracy. Congress must act to ensure his swift, lawful removal from office. We need your help to put pressure on Republicans to act.  That’s why we’ve provided this template and contact information for the NC GOP Congressional Delegation. Click here for more information and use the script to write or call North Carolina Republicans in Congress.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
