Survey for the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research
Dear all,
As our governmental funding has been extended until 2026, the BCCR leader group will set up a new strategy for the coming years.
We invite you all to answer an anonymised survey on the organization and how we spend our funding. Estimated time is 10-20 minutes, depending on the comment sections.
Your feedback is very important!
Please find the survey here
Deadline: Wednesday February 3.

The Bjerknes PhD Forum
The Bjerknes PhD Forum is open for all PhDs affiliated with the Bjerknes Centre.
The Forum intends to create a community for international and Norwegian PhD students from different research areas during their time in Bergen.
Our aim is to facilitate exchange among new and advanced PhD students as well as to distribute and preserve knowledge about “the way things work”.
We meet about once a month to network and discuss different aspects of the academic career and/or life in Bergen. Visiting PhD students and interns are welcome to join our activities.
The current PhD Forum Board members are:
Sonja Wahl (leader) – Sonja.wahl@uib.no
Maaike Zwier (co-leader) - maaike.zwier@uib.no
Elina Efstathiou (contact person for new PhDs) - Evangelia.Efstathiou@uib.no

Keeping up the spirit!
Although we haven’t been as active as we usually are, the PhD Forum organized some events in 2020 to offer a place for (digital) social interaction.
We met outside for a guided tour of mushroom picking, played games online, had a course on body language and celebrated the end of the year with a julebord. (Picture Credit: Elina and Sonja)
Besides social networking, we will discuss “proposal writing and funding options” in the upcoming PhD Forum meetings.

BCCR/GFI seminars
Hey all,
the BCCR seminar is looking for speakers for the upcoming weeks! As of
now, there are no scheduled talks. We would again aim for Mondays 14:15
- 15:30, but as the seminar will still be online, we are of course
flexible. So please feel free to fill out the seminar form
(https://skjemaker.app.uib.no/view.php?id=2969462) if you want to share
your research with our community.
In order to fully utilize the "potential" that the current
online-situation provides us with, we would again like to welcome
speakers from outside our institutes to give a talk. So if you know a
colleague whose work and expertise are of interest to our center, feel
free to advertise our seminar to them.
In case of questions just contact us:
laura.dietrich@uib.no
marvin.kahnert@uib.no
All the best,
Laura and Marvin
