Curator of Collections - University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, CA
  • Manages and develops the Visual Resource Center (VRC) in the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory (AHVA). Oversees collection development and maintenance of 550,000+ items of visual materials for teaching and learning. Researches, selects, and implements new technologies in digitization, database development, information storage and delivery. Plans, evaluates, develops, improves, and integrates electronic access, storage, and web-based technologies for the collection. Supervises all aspects of the VRC's digitization operation, including upholding imaging standards and maintaining the department's digital infrastructure. Formulates and implements cataloging standards based on best practices in the visual resources community. Trains and supervises staff, manages the VRC's budget, prepares grant proposals, and collaborates with other departments to provide ongoing support for related projects. Serves as liaison to faculty and students in the AHVA department. 
2021/22 Kress Fellowship in Art Librarianship - Yale University, New Haven, CT
  • 10-month appointment and focuses on multiple areas art librarianship including public services, collection development and management, special collections, and digital collections. Fellow focuses on special collections projects and activities that draw on subject areas served by the Haas Arts Library, including the history of art, architecture, drama, design, and aligned area studies. Fellow also work son a special-collections-focused project at the Yale Center for British Art Institutional Archives. Gains experience in reference services and library research education, including working shifts at the service desk and participating in orientations, instruction sessions, and library workshops. 
Curator, African Art - Brooklyn Museum, New York, NY
  • Assesses and rethinks the extensive holdings of African art to organize an innovative reinstallation of the entire collection for a new gallery space. Researches and interprets the collection and participates in cross-departmental exhibitions, installations, and publications. Conceptualizes and produces innovative, canon-expanding exhibitions, both for exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and for travel to other venues. Works with the Director and the Deputy Director/Chief Development Officer to raise support for the new galleries and attract major transformational gifts to build the collection. Collaborates with our social media team to promote new acquisitions and collection-related activities and initiatives, to increase media attention and audience engagement. Leads scholarly research and writing on the history and interpretation of objects and further research, update, and expand the collection database for online use. Advocates for public and educational programming to increase visibility of the Arts of Africa collection and generate public interest. Responds to collection inquiries and loan requests as needed. Works with the Conservation team to address and remedy specific preservation issues. 
Processing Archivist for Community Collections (1-year term) - Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburg, PA
  • Works collaboratively to identify outstanding collections that add diverse voices and experiences to the University Archives’ holdings. Reviews existing descriptive practices and develops an internal process documents for expansive archival description. Provides reference support and assistance to patrons and students. Collaborates with other members of the University Libraries to digitize materials and design digital and physical exhibitions and programs. Writes blog posts and develops research guides. Collaborates with University Archives Oral History Program to identify and facilitate oral histories. Works with IT services to ensure that operating systems and tools are fully functional. Handles a library collection or project. Handles workflow and assists in the development of policies for area of responsibility. Resolves processing priorities and allocates appropriate resources for completion of work.
Collections Processing Intern - State Historical Society of North Dakota, Bismarck, ND
  • Assists the Photograph Archivist and Manuscript Archivist with processing a large, high-priority photograph collection. Rehouses negatives from a historic photograph collection from the Williston, ND, area. Incorporates descriptive data from several sources, including the photographer's notes, examines photographs, and enters descriptive information into an Excel spreadsheet inventory. Submits weekly progress reports and completes the inventory for all photographs. 
Digital Asset Archivist - Alabama Department of Archives and History, Montgomery, AL
  • Digitizes historical materials and creates appropriate and accurate metadata for them. Checks and edits metadata created by staff and volunteers. Uploads and manages materials in the department’s digital collections using software such as CONTENTdm. Trains students and volunteers in scanning and transcription work. Follows section policies and procedures to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently. Follows local and national cataloging and metadata standards. Works collaboratively with digital project members to ensure that projects proceed according to specified objectives. Provides reference assistance to researchers about digital collections. Promotes the ADAH and its collections through outreach activities.
Director of Special Collections and the Curator of the Peace Collection - Swarthmore College, Philadelphia, PA
  • New role where the incumbent will be tasked with creating a holistic vision and culture for the special collections while honoring their individual historical missions and responsibilities. Provides leadership for the collections, services, and programs of the Special Collections. Works with the College Librarian and the Development staff to foster new donor relations and grant development. Works with colleagues in the TriCollege Consortium on collaborative projects, grant seeking, and technology infrastructure strategy. As Curator of the Peace Collection, the incumbent develops the collection through work with donors and peace-related organizations, answers reference queries, and conducts in-depth research consultations. 
Assistant Media Manager - Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, NY
  • Monitors, edits, and improves the MFIT website using a content management system. Creates and edits new and existing exhibition websites in the custom MFIT Wordpress theme. Produces and promotes audio and video assets and creates and edits branded graphics. Builds and sends email newsletters and manages and develops audience lists. Assists with the management of MFIT social media profiles by posting status updates, images, videos, and events. Moderates online conversations to deepen audience engagement, drive interest, and attract viewership. Produces analytic reports, contributes to strategic planning for web presence and social media, and provides general administrative support to the department. 
Art Coordinator (part-time) - Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, MI
  • Develops and coordinates CMU Libraries’ public art exhibitions and programming through the Park Library. Creates virtual art exhibitions to expand reach of art programming. Maintains the library’s permanent art collection, including acquiring art objects, displaying art, and storing art according to best archival practices. Identifies artists to showcase and traveling shows suitable for the Park Library. Installs and de-installs art exhibitions. Writes content for displays, newsletter and blog articles, invitations, print and digital marketing, and press releases related to art exhibitions and programs. Plans and hosts opening receptions for artist’s talks related to Baber Room exhibitions. Maintains and acquires exhibition equipment. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates student workers to assist with archival stewardship and conservation of artworks. Promotes student success by supporting Art, Design and Museum Studies students through exhibiting or purchasing their art works, mentoring, or overseeing internships. Serves as member of the Art on Campus Committee and the Libraries’ marketing committee. Co-manages and maintains CMU’s Art on Campus database.
