Free Learning Series, “Little Kids, Big World,” Featured at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum


BISMARCK, N.D. – Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series, “Little Kids, Big World,” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"Little Kids, Big World" classes are offered in a large public space with social distancing considerations. Each child is provided with their own supplies. Visitors are asked to follow state and local mandates and the CDC's recommendations on social distancing and personal hygiene.

The programs are Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Children and their parents or guardians are asked to meet at the east entrance information desk.

Feb. 6 "Wild With Animals." Did you know that the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum is full of animals? Join a scavenger hunt to find all the animals hiding in plain sight.
Feb. 7 "Bones, Bones, Bones." Dinosaur bones are the most visible and popular, but there are also other types of bones in the Heritage Center. Learn about the bones of many different animals.
Feb. 12 "Feeding Feathered Friends." Birds love to eat just as we do. Create a bird feeder to show the birds in your life some love.
Feb. 13 "Love is in the Air." Join us in creating Valentine hearts for the people we love.
Feb. 15 "Digging a Dinosaur Puzzle." Paleontologists have to dig for dinosaur bones. Grab a shovel and help put together a dinosaur puzzle. Preregistration is required at shsnd.eventbrite.com. Limited to 20 participants.
Feb. 20 "It’s Dino Dig Time." Become a paleontologist and dig for dinosaur bones. Preregistration is required at shsnd.eventbrite.com. Limited to 20 participants.
Feb. 27 "Dino Egg-stravaganza." 11 a.m., 12 and 1 p.m. Use science to uncover the mystery behind dinosaur eggs. Preregistration is required at shsnd.eventbrite.com. Limited to 20 participants.
Feb. 28 "Flying Dinosaurs." Make flying dinosaurs and watch them soar. Preregistration is required at shsnd.eventbrite.com. Limited to 20 participants.
