IMPORTANT NEWS FOR DANTE MEMBERS!
 

1. Time to Renew your Membership. Individual membership is $40; Families $50; donations above membership always gratefully received. Complete the renewal form online. You can then continue and pay online, or mail a check after you fill out the form (filling it out each year helps us keep all our contact lists up to date).

If you joined or renewed after September 1, 2020, your membership is current and you do not have to do anything more now.

2. A vote by current members is needed to approve revised Constitution and Bylaws of our Dante Society of Seattle. The revision process was carried out and in November, the Board of Directors approved the final revised version of these important documents. Voting by members will take place ONLINE from 6:00 PM, January 26 to 6:00 PM January 27. A link for the vote will be sent before voting opens. Results of the vote will then be able to be shared at our Italian Meeting on the 27th. The documents will be available at the voting web site, but if you want to read them now, for quicker voting next week, here is the pdf version. Please DO participate in the vote next week.

3. Volunteer Opportunity for anyone with financial / QuickBooks expertise: Once the new Governance documents are approved, our bylaws will require us to maintain a standing finance committee. The duties of this committee are spelled out in the new bylaws, but in short, they are:  to provide oversight of financial activities and reports, possibly to help with maintenance of our QuickBooks accounting system, and assist the Treasurer in other ways if needed. Finance committee members have no fixed obligation to meet regularly, or to attend Board meetings, so the time commitment for this important work can be flexible. We need VOLUNTEERS FROM THE MEMBERSHIP to serve on the Finance Committee. Please step up if you can help -- you will be held in high esteem with our thanks! The bylaws allow for outside help on this committee, so contact ideas will also be appreciated. Email joyce@danteseattle.org. We need to form this committee as part of our Annual Meeting in April, or sooner, if possible.
