The Punxsutawney Regional Development Corporation (PRDC) in partnership with the Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of five, $3,000 grants, to locally owned businesses affected by COVID-19.
Please click this link for eligibility information, grant conditions, and to obtain the application.
Applications MUST be complete, accurate, and received by the Chamber NO LATER than Monday, February 14, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Applications may be emailed to chamber@punxsutawney.com or dropped off at 102 West Mahoning Street, Punxsutawney, PA.
No exceptions to the deadline will be permitted.

LifeSpan Family Services
LifeSpan Family Services is a 501C(3) non-profit based in Jefferson County at 203 Lane Avenue in Punxsutawney. They also have offices in DuBois and New Stanton, PA. LifeSpan is governed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Director. LifeSpan serves several counties in Pennsylvania including Jefferson, Clearfield, Clarion, Elk, Indiana, and several surrounding counties.
LifeSpan is a foster care agency as well as a state licensed adoption agency that is a SWAN-statewide adoption network affiliate. A caring foster parent needs to be willing to take on the difficulties and responsibilities that would be expected of any parent. Our region is in a crisis, there are over 16,000 children and youth in Foster Care in Pennsylvania. Youth of all ages need help.

SBA Extends COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan Application Deadline through Dec. 31, 2021 |
|
The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that the deadline to apply for the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program for the COVID-19 Pandemic disaster declaration is extended to December 31, 2021.
To date, the SBA has approved $197 billion in low-interest loans which provides working capital funds to small businesses, non-profits and agricultural businesses make it through this challenging time.
“Following the President’s declaration of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the SBA has approved over 3.6 million loans through our Economic Injury Disaster Loan program nationwide,” Administrator Jovita Carranza said. “The EIDL program has assisted millions of small businesses, including non-profit organizations, sole proprietors and independent contractors, from a wide array of industries and business sectors, to survive this very difficult economic environment.”
EIDL loan applications will continue to be accepted through December 2021, pending the availability of funds. Loans are offered at very affordable terms, with a 3.75% interest rate for small businesses and 2.75% interest rate for nonprofit organizations, a 30-year maturity, and an automatic deferment of one year before monthly payments begin. Every eligible small business and nonprofit are encouraged to apply to get the resources they need. |
