Dear friends in Christ,
In this time of national and global distress due to a raging pandemic and roiling political turmoil, Zoar will be holding an online prayer vigil for our nation on the eve of the presidential inauguration. In the spirit of St. Augustine, who said, "To sing is to pray twice," our vigil will include some musical offerings.
Let us pray that peace may prevail in our nation's capitol and across all our states. Let us also pray for wisdom and compassion for our leaders, as well as for a change of heart that will enable all of us to see each other as children of God and begin to work together to heal this broken, yet beautiful world God so loves.
Our vigil will be held on Zoom and Facebook Live, using the same link and passcode we use for Sunday worship. Those who are unable to join us online are encouraged to light candles and join us for a time of prayerful solidarity from 7:30-8 pm tonight. Although we are physically apart, our prayers rise up together like incense to God, who is always ready to hear!
A worship bulletin for our prayer vigil may be found HERE.
