St. Mary School - January Update

We have reached the end of the second quarter and our first full semester of school! Report cards will be posted on Digital Academy and sent home with students on Friday, Jan. 22.

We are excited to share that following the change in student quarantine guidelines our middle school houses will begin meeting in-person starting the second semester! Our house system has met “virtually” for the first half of the year, but as with so many other virtual experiences - it’s just not the same. Students will continue to wear masks and be required to physically distance themselves - but they will at least be in the same room with each other!

Catholic Schools Week will be celebrated Sunday, Jan. 31 to Friday, Feb. 5 and is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the US. The week is kicked off on Sunday, Jan 31 with a celebration of our parishes. We truly appreciate the support we receive from all the parishes that have students attending St. Mary. Watch our social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) for news and pictures of our week!

If you know a family who is interested in learning more about Catholic education, please have them contact us at 740-654-1632. We are available to answer questions and making appointments to give school tours after hours for everyone who is interested.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share the Good News of the church with our students every day which would not be possible without the continued support of our parishes, parents, and families.

Adult Education DVD Series - The Sacraments by Bp. Barron

Bishop Barron presents lively talks on the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist), the sacraments of healing (Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick), and finally the sacraments of vocation or mission (Matrimony and Holy Orders).

Because of the pandemic, this series will be offered on six Tuesday evenings for about 35 minutes each. The session length allows for a brief period of prayer before watching the DVD episode each evening. Chairs for attendees will be placed at a distance apart, all will be asks to wear masks, and we will not gather around tables for small group discussion.

Sessions will be held in the Spirit Center – Tuesday evenings beginning at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 9, 16, and 23 February and Tuesday 2, 16, and 23 March,
