This workshop offers an understanding of how biases shape our views of the people around us and how they can lead to inequities.
Equity Matters. In our quest to live and work sustainably, we are continually making choices and decisions. Much of our thought process behind these choices is unconsciously influenced by our biases. Understanding what those biases are will help us to make equitable choices in work and our community. The Waukesha County Green Team is hosting in partnership with Step Up: Equity Matters, ‘Unconscious Bias Workshop’. Through this virtual workshop, we’ll learn how to recognize, own and disrupt our biases. Participants will take time to reflect on their inner biases to learn how to move beyond guilt and toward positive intention and action.
Learning Objectives:
● Remember the basic characteristics of biases and how they are formed
● Recognize the impact of biases
● Practice recognizing, owning, and disrupting their own biases
