Art Bikes Project Nominated for Outstanding Public Art by the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards
The Art Bikes project, by Heartland B-cycle and artists at the Joselyn Art Museum's Kent Bellows Mentoring Program, has been nominated for Outstanding Public Art at the 15th Annual Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards. We are honored to be nominated alongside incredible artists and organizations in our community. For this project, Heartland B-cycle turned bikes that needed a paint touch-up into a canvas for young artists in our community. Students at Kent Bellows Mentoring Program painted 10 bikes which travel across the Metro in the Heartland B-cycle system.

The 15th Annual OEA Awards will be held on Facebook Live on Sunday, February 28th at 5:45pm. Visual Art Nominees will be on display at the Roberta & Bob Rogers Gallery from February 19th-March 6th.

Heartland B-cycle & Your Health

In response to COVID-19, Heartland B-cycle has increased our cleaning protocols. All of our bike technicians are wearing masks & gloves when they go out to sanitize, balance, and do bike maintenance. Before you ride, we suggest disinfecting all user contact points on the bike. Make sure to maintain 6 feet or more of distance between yourself & others. Don't forget to wash your hands after your trip with soap & water.
Heartland B-cycle is operated by Heartland Bike Share.
Heartland Bike Share is a 501c3 nonprofit that exists for the development, promotion, and operation of bike sharing programs throughout the Heartland region for the benefit of the general public, aimed at promoting health and quality of life as well as mitigating climate change and promoting the use of sustainable forms of transportation.
