Pierre Girardin 2019 Burgundy Pre-Sale
Offered Now for Springtime Arrival
A Familiar Name But A New Beginning
Anyone who is familiar with the wines Pierre's father, Vincent, made either side of the millennium and before he sold his negoce business to his partner in 2012, will be more than a little interested to see that Pierre has finally got it together to produce wines under his own name.
Vincent's negociant wines of that period were some of the best wines made from their appellations, yet they were so well priced that many collectors failed to take them seriously. As a result many people missed out on acquiring any meaningful quantities by the time the business changed hands and the magic had gone away. The premier and grand cru whites in particular, could rival any of those made at the blue-blood domaines in that period.
Burgundy enthusiasts watched and waiting for Pierre Girardin to relight the torch with huge anticipation and they were not disappointed with his first release of the 2017s, which sold out in a jiffy, which led to strict allocations of the 2018s and now this new release, his 2019s.
High Demand, No Chance to Wait For Scores
This is the first we have seen of Pierre's 2019s. It is an early offer, before any scores or comments from the critics. But it should suffice to say, these wines will sell regardless; sometimes your choice is to show faith, or forever wonder...
