One such destination is Beaufort, SC, the second oldest city in SC (just a ~1.5 hour drive away). Beaufort was recently named one of the “11 Best Small Towns in America” by Travel + Leisure and has been voted the “South’s Best Small Town” by Southern Living, and for good reason — the historic downtown is coastal, scenic, and easily walkable, ft. small streets lined with oak trees dripping in Spanish Moss. ○ On Thurs., Feb. 25, the Baxter-Patrick James Island Library will partner with Fetter Health Care to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible South Carolina residents. On that day, the library will be closed to the public. (Holy City Sinner)

Announced ○ The Citadel has announced that it will not sell individual tickets for this spring’s football season. The stadium will welcome season ticket holders, members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets + players’ guests, but capacity will be limited to 27%. 🏈 (WCBD) ○ CARTA will add nine new electric buses to their public transportation fleet, with two expected to arrive next week + seven in July. Eventually, CARTA hopes to have 100 electric buses as well as a new transit center with super charging stations. 🚍 (WCSC)

○ High school students can now sign up for dual enrollment classes at Charleston Southern University to receive college credits ahead of time. The program offers a variety of general courses required for most majors and includes both online + in-person classes. 🎓

○ Happy hour at Frannie and The Fox (181 Church St.) will now include four-legged friends. Every Tuesday night from 3-5 p.m., guests are encouraged to bring their pups and stop by for drink specials + dog treats. 🐕 (Holy City Sinner)
FeelGood ○ St. Andrew’s Parks and Playground in West Ashley received an anonymous $5,000 donation in honor of the local Parker family, who has volunteered at St. Andrew’s Parks for four generations. As a result, the park was able to purchase new baseball equipment for the spring season. ⚾️ (WCSC)
