Seriously, where did January go? I almost feel like February 1st was the new January 1st as I'm finally able to sit down and get going on my goals for the year.
With that, why don't we take a look at some primo areas to reset for the new year?
What about a pantry refresh to start? Wouldn't it be great to open the door and find everything you need?
A few tips that can help:
consider decanting frequently used items, things in floppy bags that can spill easily or those that can go stale quickly so you can see how much you have and they don't go bad (we love the oxo pop canisters!)
zone your pantry based on usage - for example, meal prep or snacks or baking
zone your pantry based on frequency of use - the most frequently used should be at arm level, less frequently or rarely used on the upper shelves
zone your pantry based on who is accessing it - snacks down low for kids (unless you need to hide them!), meal prep at your level, etc.
add step risers for cans so you can see them
use a variety of materials
wire baskets are great for bread or bags of chips
clear bins for boxes or packaged mixes
decorative baskets for interest and as an alternative to clear
label the baskets, bins, and canisters plus label the shelves if you need it!
Be sure to measure your shelves before buying any bins!
A few things we've done for clients who have challenging pantries:
add liners to wire shelves to keep things from falling through
