EAST YARD Community Arts Centre is the premier creative community arts space in East Trinidad. Created in 2017 by local arts promotion and education non-profit organization, Caribbean Fashion and Arts Feature Festival, EAST YARD is a cultural hub designed to connect and engage the local community on a regular and ongoing basis by championing creativity in all its forms.

On February 14th, EAST YARD was transformed into a celebration of eroticism and sensuality! Dominic Thomas, The Creative Associate, launched EAST YARD's inaugural Erotic Arts Festival, kicking off the event with a grown and sexy art exhibition by a collection of local artists.

The exhibition ran throughout the week and attracted visitors from near and far, including His Worship, Mayor of Arima, Mr. Cagney Casimire. After taking in the sights, and getting over the shock, His Worship sat to chat with us about his and the Borough Corporation's vision for the arts in Arima.

The festival closed with the Look Fashion Showcase on Sunday 28th. Local designers Adlaw Designs, 'Asa Market, Omi's Works, Deson Ayindé and Commess graced the runway with sexy, flirty, erotic wear.

John Roberts is an architectural designer, interior designer, artist and engineer from Arima. You may recognise him as the jolly looking fellow that rides through the streets of Arima on the most eye-catching contraption you’ll probably see. It’s a recumbent trike, and it isn't new technology but he has certainly made it his trademark. The vehicle consists of a reclined chair, three wheels, and pedals, and John can be seen cruising through Arima on a cool evening.

On February 12th, the Arima Borough Corporation hosted a Carnival Showcase at EAST YARD. His Worship, Mayor of Arima, Mr. Cagney Casimire opened the event and there were steelpan performances, traditional mas characters, spoken word, musical bands and a special guest performance by soca sensation, Preedy.

Revenue generated by CFAFF through your support goes directly into funding our various arts-impact community based programs for youth, and now retirees interested in careers in the creative sector to assist with skill building, support internship opportunities and build job experience.

EAST STUDIO is a concept; a realisation; an execution and a curated space for your art and workshop needs. EAST STUDIO offers one of East Trinidad's only permanent art galleries. Artists can rent the studio for an in person gallery showing or they can rent our virtual gallery for an online exhibition.

Another EAST STUDIO space is our workshop and event rental. Our workshop space is a dedicated room available for hosting workshops and small events.

Boutique Est (boo-teek-aye) is an all-Caribbean fashion boutique. Here you can find handcrafted, bespoke, unique fashion and accessories from clothing, to bags and jewellery. We boast a beautifully curated selection of local designers that work in upcycled fashion, leather, wire bending and much more.

East Gourmet is a gourmet food and gift shop answering the call to revisit tradition. It is stocked with local and regional delights like wines, fudges, pepper sauces, teas and coffees, sauces and jellies, alcohols, cakes and brownies as well as a gift items like handcrafted bamboo lamps, skin care products, candles and so much more.

Afternoon tea is now available.
