Sight Seeing In Our Own City

As we make our way through the “Great Dark” here in Seattle, we are always on the look-out for interesting lighting installations to bring a little brightness into our long evenings. In this time of social distance we are even more appreciative of opportunities to enjoy our city.
This year, we were delighted by LUSIO Lights Pioneer Square. A collaboration between The Alliance for Pioneer Square and LUSIO; this self-guided, outdoor visual experience was just what we needed - easy social distancing, intriguing art work, lots of color and motion in light, and a great excuse to visit a favorite neighborhood in our city. Nine separate art pieces were installed in interior spaces and visible from the sidewalk, providing interesting photography opportunities.

New Energy Codes
The Washington State Building Code Council has announced that the effective date of the new 2018 energy codes is February 1st, 2021. If your building permit is submitted on or after Feb 1st, there will be new code requirements to consider.
The City of Seattle’s 2018 code is also currently scheduled to be effective on February 1, 2021. If you are planning a project in the area, it may be beneficial to submit for permit before these new codes are effective.
Lighting power allowances are being reduced in both the state and city energy codes. Let us know if we can help with planning and understanding of your options under the new codes.

Year Of The Ox 2021
