Hello <<First Name>>,

Are you feeling the feeling that I'm feeling? Oh, what a difference a week makes?? YES!

It's brilliantly sunny outside (and the ground is covered in snow). But even without the gorgeous weather, I feel more energized.  And while I only have one hat to share, it is a cutie-pie!

Orange You Glad?

Orange Slice Beret

After making Lemon and Lime and Pink Grapefruit Berets, I knew that there was a 'hole' in the 'citrus segment' of the Fruit Collection. Orange was missing!

Oddly, there is very little orange-colored wool in my stash. I didn't want to order more because I'm still trying to use what I already have. So, I dug deep. Consequently, I ended up using a combination of unfamiliar-to-me wools. In addition to my usual fine Merino Roving, I used some Short Fiber Merino Batt from LivingFelt, and some hand-dyed, Vermont-raised, Leceister wool from my friend Susi of The Felted Gnome Knows. Lastly, I included an in-between layer of undyed, American Merino wool that I won last February from RH Lindsay Wool

I probably should have made a sample of 10-inch by 10-inch felt. But, I was too impatient to Get This Hat Born. Hence, the Orange Slice Beret is of a lighter weight felt compared to the rest of her Citrus Sisters. It will still keep you warm because of the wonders of wool!

Off to work on my next project. I think it will be a revisiting of the Eggplant Hat - only over-sized! I am in the mood to have FUN and be challenged.

Thank you for traveling with me!  I hope that your year is feeling similarly buoyant!

With appreciation,

PS: Are you experiencing pain in the neck or shoulders after spending lots of time at your desk or work? There's a helpful post over on the Felting and Fiber Forum from a retired, registered massage therapist about how to reduce this. Moreover, there are charming, step-by-step illustrations done using a needle-felted figure who happens to be a MerMan!
