‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
As I drove to work today, the song Amazing Grace came on the radio. The timing could not have been better. I had been thinking about what I might send this week in my weekly message. As the words melodically accompanied me on my commute, I realized that the song was indicative of what lies ahead, and of that which has gotten us through the past year - grace, and the promise of the day that children would return to campus.
Though, we are by no means out of the woods, vaccinations for educators are on the horizon, and God willing, a greater focus on eradicating this insidious virus has begun.
Now, the long, awaited time has come.
Beginning Monday, January 25th, a few faces of those most cherished, will begin to populate campus. Some of the “Littles” will be joining us for limited in-person instruction, as we await approval from the county to open in greater numbers. We have spent a great deal of time and effort on safety regulations and campus improvements to ensure that staff and students remain safe. I am confident that we are prepared to meet the challenge.
On Monday, February 1st, we begin, again, our after-school sports camp open to all Laurel Hall students. Please contact “Coach B” if you are interested in participating. I highly recommend that you come and join the fun.
This month has been a trying one. There has been uncertainty at every turn - locally, nationally, and globally. For me, I find the ability to move forward fueled by the love of my family and the comfort of an absolutely amazing Laurel Hall community. I thank all of you for your patience, as we continue the steady march toward normalcy.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come
'Twas grace has brought us safe thus far
And grace will lead us home.
Best,
Jay

Three ways that you can support Laurel Hall during the school year, are by (1) linking your Ralph's card to Laurel Hall, (2) designating our school as your charity on Goodsearch, and (3) scanning your grocery receipts with the Box Tops app.
To benefit Laurel Hall, shoppers need a digital account that can be linked to the Ralph's Community Contribution program. Go here to set up your digital account. If you already have an online account with Ralph's, you can log in and then choose Laurel Hall as your designated Community Contribution school.
Our school receives funds for every search made through the site, so why not use it as your search engine? You can sign up for Goodsearch here. Be sure to designate Laurel Hall School as your charity.
