Planning Commission to Hold Virtual Public Hearing on Zoning Ordinance
The Plainfield Township Planning Commission will hold a virtual public hearing at its regular meeting Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. to consider updates to the zoning ordinance and map.

Be a Part of Two New PFAS Studies
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is still accepting participants for two new PFAS health studies, and Township residents with private wells may be eligible.
These studies will help recommend changes to public health policies and better protect communities that may be at greater risk of exposure to PFAS.

Businesses Reminded to Keep Sidewalks Clear This Winter
The Township is reminding businesses to clear snow and ice on the sidewalk in front of their facility to help keep pedestrians safe.
The Township’s ordinance – adopted in 2019 – requires snow and ice to be removed on sidewalks in populated commercial areas.

New Respiratory Gear Helps Fire Department Stay Safe
The Plainfield Township Fire Department recently purchased reusable respirators to make keeping a steady supply of personal protection equipment more manageable as demand for disposable masks remain high nationwide due to COVID-19.

When to Expect to Get Your COVID-19 Vaccination
As COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed more broadly across the state, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has released a tentative timeline for when you can expect to have access to a vaccination.

All Kent District Library locations have resumed in-branch hours and welcomed the community back inside their facilities.
For the health and safety of its patrons, all branches have the following COVID-19 safety protocols in place:
Building capacity is set at 30%.
Properly worn face coverings are required.
Private study rooms and play spaces are closed.
All visits are limited of two hours.
High-risk patrons are encouraged to visit during the first hour of the day when branches typically are less busy. For more information on KDL, including the Plainfield Township and Comstock Park branch hours, visit kdl.org.
