○ The Town of Cary council has approved a $65,000 incentive grant from the Town to PennyMac Financial Services, Inc. The grant requires the company to establish a mortgage fulfillment production center in Cary — creating 322 jobs with an average annual salary of $64,567. 💰 (CaryCitizen)

○ Durham-based manufacturer Cree hit a record high of more than $129 per share at the stock market’s closing last Thursday. The same day, the company planned a $500 million stock sale to invest net proceeds back into the company, which resulted in shares dropping 4%. 💸 (TechWire)

○ The upcoming phase of development for Raleigh Union Station is in its early planning period for design and has selected a developer to spearhead the project. The next stage of construction will be dedicated to building commercial and residential space + a high-rise with ground-level transit access. 🏗️ (WRAL)

○ Locally-based companies Valencell and SunTech Medical are teaming up to create medical equipment that could save lives during surgical procedures. These organizations are working to develop a continuous blood pressure monitoring system that would make the manual blood pressure cuffs obsolete. (Triangle Business Journal)

○ Artist Georgia Tardy has recently finished a mural on the historic Gables Motel — located at 1217 Wake Forest Rd. and displaying words from Maya Angelou’s poem “Our Grandmothers.” The project was a collaboration between the Raleigh Murals Project, Gables Motel, and NC musician Tift Merritt. 🎨

○ Heritage Middle School language arts teacher Jennifer Pride has been named the Wake County Teacher of the Year. Jennifer was selected out of 10,700 teachers from 191 schools and will go on to represent Wake County in the NC Teacher of the Year Program. Congrats Ms. Pride! 🍎(News & Observer)

Labyrinths — often mistaken for mazes — have a history of over 4,000 years. Believed to be rooted in Christianity, they are now widely used by people of all kinds, for various purposes. Labyrinths can be used as a space to walk, meditate + pray.
