Councillor Potts will be attending each month's public meeting to provide Council updates and hear your feedback on Council and City initiatives. Build Back Victoria Survey: open until February 22, 2021

(From the City of Victoria website) In spring 2020, temporary public space initiatives were created to help local businesses respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Build Back Victoria has been extended through to October 2021 and we are looking for your input to help improve the spring and summer program.

Build Back Victoria included a number of new temporary options for businesses to apply to expand their footprint and safely conduct commercial activities, such as:
  • Flex Space and Temporary Patios:
  • Businesses in Parks
  • Customer Loading Zones
  • Mobile Vendors
  • Full Street Closures
  • Partial Street Closures
  • Pedestrian Priority Treatments on Government Street

North Park's Next Monthly Food Market: February 21: 10:30am-1:30pm at RAP!

Each month, the NPNA hosts a monthly food market at Royal Athletic Park. This free, family friendly (and pet friendly!) market features rotating prepared food vendors.

This market is free to attend both for vendors and for guests, and is one of the ways the NPNA is working towards increasing food security in North Park. It's also a great way to animate Royal Athletic Park! Funding for the monthly food market began with a grant from the Canada Red Cross, and is continuing with a City of Victoria Strategic Plan Grant (2.0).

We are currently seeking new applications for food vendors. Fill out the application form here.

The next monthly food market is Sunday, February 21 from 10:30am-1:30pm. For the most up to date list of vendors, see the Facebook event! The market space is wheelchair, stroller, and walker accessible, and dogs on leashes are allowed into the market space!

February Market Vendors:

COVID-19 protocols:
- Follow the signs for entrance and exit
- Masks are required (we will have extras)
- Provide your first name and phone number for contact tracing
- Shop, don't stop. (Please exit the market and head out onto the field if you'd like to eat your food in the park

Save the date for all the markets until August!

Group seeking location for a community fridge in North Park

The NPNA was contacted by the Community Fridge Team who are looking for a space to install a community fridge. If you haven't come across this concept before, these are fridges placed in a publicly accessible locations which community members stock with extra grocery items they might have so that people in need of food can take what they need. The ideal location would be accessible, open to the public, and have access to electricity. This team would take care of cleaning, stocking and maintenance the fridge.

Contact the Community Fridge Team to suggest a location: communityfridgesvic@gmail.com
