EXCITING NEWS FROM STREET CHURCH MINISTRIES!
As a result of your partnership and commitment to support Street Church Ministries, we have leased a commercial property that is three times the size of our current location.  We will be moving to the new location in March.  In addition to Church on the Block, our new space will also function as a daily faith-based community outreach center. We could never have done this without your faithful support. Thank you!
A Message from Pastor Tony
“If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.
You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle.
You put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Water can flow and it can crash.  Be water, my friend.”
-Bruce Lee
“Christ Jesus, who already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant.”
-Apostle Paul
What do these two quotes have in common? The first coming out of the mouth of a 20th century Martial Artist, the second written on a scroll by a first century disciple and apostle of Christ.  Our ministry team at Street Church Ministries realizes that if we are going to be a source of light and hope within the community God has placed us, we have to embody both at the same time.  We must be fluid like water, allowing God’s love and life to flow through us, regardless of whatever situations or circumstances we find ourselves in.  Lately the world has thrown us all some serious curve balls, but we are committed to standing for truth and righteousness and not allowing a dark and desperate world to stop our flow.  The way we do this, is by following the example of Jesus himself.  Paul reminds us that He emptied Himself and took on another form - the form of a servant.  We are committed to honoring your partnership with this Ministry and will continue to empty ourselves for those we minister to by taking the form of bond-servants.  This newsletter is a brief update on how your investment in this Ministry is changing lives.

A Stream, Not a Water Pump
James and Rick, two men that we are discipling have been serving the community every week by going out to the streets and meeting the people’s physical needs as well as just spending time listening to them and praying for them.  These men, both of whom are grinding out a very poor and challenging life themselves, are literally pouring out their time, energy and hearts into people’s lives who are struggling on our city streets.
James, Rick, Sean, Louis, Dennis and Ernie attend a weekly discipleship meeting where they have a chance to unload their burdens and help each other carry them.  They are learning the nuts and bolts of genuine discipleship at this weekly gathering.
Ernie struggles with significant health issues having to do with his digestive system.  With your help we we were able to purchase a juicer for Ernie and continue to help him with fresh vegetables and fruit.  Fresh nutritious food can be hard to obtain in Trenton so this support has greatly helped Ernie with his condition.

Nick, a man who has been attending Church on the Block sporadically is someone who is considering attending Teen Challenge.  Nick is struggling and has a very unstable living condition. Teen Challenge would offer him a place to regroup and start a new life.  It would also provide the stability of twelve months of housing as well as education.  It is only through the partnership and commitment of our supporters that we are able to cover the cost of the enrollment fee.
A man who attends our ministry has recently been approved for Social Security Disability.  He currently lives in a rooming house but would like to move into an apartment.  When he is ready to move, thanks to your support, we will be able to help with his security deposit and furnishings for the apartment.
