From the Director

Happy Super Bowl Sunday — Go Broncos! Oh, wait.... maybe next year ;)

I can’t believe we are already into February! Our time is flying by so far this semester, and there are many good things happening in our classes and our program. We will be sharing much of what we are working on in our program virtually later this semester. I am hopeful that we will have opportunities near the end of our semester to perform for you in person.

DRHS Parent/Conferences are this upcoming Friday, February 12th from 10AM-5PM. Please reach out to me via email if you would like to schedule a virtual conference with me— I would love to chat with you about your child and our program.

Thank you for continuing to support your child in music at Dakota Ridge High School, especially during this ongoing challenge. I believe that the bonds these students are continuing to build through music/performance, even in the limited opportunities we have now, will help them continue to succeed and work together when we are on the other side of this pandemic. It is truly enjoyable to work with the DRHS music students!

Thanks—

Dylan Ford

From our Booster Board

Hello Music Families,

It's hard to believe another week has gone by already. We still don't have much going on, but we do have some volunteer needs which need to be filled ASAP.

Our next virtual Booster meeting will be in March. Details are coming soon.

Bingo is still closed and will not reopen until  Jeffco moves to yellow status, but it is sounding like this will be happening soon. We will keep you posted and try to give as much notice as possible. Please keep in mind we need volunteers every Friday and Sunday night and we do work bingo through the entire summer. We need 2 parents each night and around 6 kids .

We still need a few volunteers for the Scholarship committee. This is not a huge commitment. It is simply reviewing applications and voting on winners. Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in helping. The applications are due before spring break, and we need this committee filled and ready to review everything by the first week of April.

We are going to need several Bingo Managers for this summer and next school year. If you are interested in becoming a Bingo Manager, please contact Vanessa.

We will also be needing several board positions filled for next year. The most urgent being the Treasurer position. The board is voted on in May and the transition to the new board is the beginning of June. We realize this is still a few months away, but it will be here before we know it. We will have more information about specific positions and job duties after the next virtual meeting in March. If you are interested in being on the board next year, please let us know.

We are happy to report Winter Guard and Winter Percussion are practicing in person again! Please continue to follow all social distancing and safety procedures as we hopefully start returning to regular activities again. I know we are all eager to get things back to normal.

As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
Tami Smith and Lorey Bratten
Co-Presidents
