WELLNESS & REABLEMENT NEWS
Updates, Education and Resources
February, 2021

Welcome to a new year!

I hope you were able to enjoy some time to rest and re-charge over the Christmas/New Year break.
You may have noticed, I love a good quote. Dr Seuss is always a source of wise words…Here’s one to kick off a new year after a year of massive change, pivoting and reflection.

“You’ll never get bored when you try something new. There’s really no limit to what you can do”
Dr Seuss

I look forward to working with you in 2021.

WELLNESS & REABLEMENT RESOURCES
The Department of Health has recently released a suite of resources for CHSP organisations to better understand, embed, and apply wellness and reablement into CHSP service delivery.

CHSP REABLEMENT TRAINING
As part of the Better Ageing – Promoting Independent Living measure, national reablement training is now available for CHSP support workers, allied health professionals and team leaders.

The training includes:
  1. Podcast series in wellness and reablement,
  2. eLearning modules hosted on the My Aged Care Learning Environment (MACLE), and
  3. Facilitator’s Toolkit for CHSP providers with existing in-house training infrastructure.

The content developed includes consideration of the roles played by assessors, clients and their families and informal carers, so there is a shared understanding of reablement and its application by service providers.

To support uptake to the CHSP Reablement Training, the Department of Health have pre-purchased 10,000 training subscriptions. This means the first 10,000 training places can be provided at no cost to your CHSP organisation.

To register for CHSP Reablement Training
To register your staff for CHSP Reablement Training, details must be provided for each individual on the attached excel spreadsheet.
Please send the registration application (spreadsheet) details to:
WellnessandReablement@health.gov.au Incomplete training details are unable to be accepted, and only the first 10,000 places will be registered.
